Lake Macquarie is one of the largest coastal saltwater lakes in the southern hemisphere. Located just 100 kilometres from Sydney, it stretches from Wyee Bay in the south to Warners Bay in the north, is 9.7 metres at its deepest point, and has 174 kilometres of foreshore - making it four times larger that Sydney Harbour.

The lakes sandy inlets and secluded bays are ideal for boating and fishing, swimming, snorkeling and diving; whilst the nearby coastline extends 16 kilometres with some of the best beaches in NSW.

The Lake Macquarie area is home to 92 small towns and communities supporting a population of 190,000, yet welcomes more than 900,000 visitors a year. Fringed by the Central Coast and Hunter Valley, there is plenty to see and do, be it an escape for two or a family holiday.
